Founded in 1999, P-BIO is a private non-profit association which brings together more than 40 members from the Biotechnology and Life Sciences sector in Portugal. P-BIO has been playing a key role in the interconnection between biotech startups, bioindustry companies and relevant public authorities and other institutions, seeking not only to give visibility to the sector, but also to develop a favourable environment for the creation and growth of biotechnology start-ups and innovative bioindustries at national level. As a member of EuropaBIO, P-BIO plays a significant role in representing the Portuguese Biotech sector at European level. P-BIO leads WP5, which will validate the methodologies and tools developed in the BioINSouth project and specifically in WP4. P-BIO is also involved in the activities of other WPs (WP2, WP3, and WP6).”
