LEITAT founded in 1906 has a team of over 500 professionals. LEITAT provides social, industrial, economic and sustainable value, offering comprehensive solutions in multiple sectors: development of new materials, eco-sustainable production, revaluation of waste and use of natural resources, green energy and maximization of energy efficiency. LEITAT is recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness and was the 3rd Technology Centre in Spain in terms of volume of H2020 projects over the whole program including BBI-JU, and now it is also participating in many HEU and CBE-JU project. This allow to acquire a lot of experience, datasets and information in performing LCA as well as in the SSbD assessment.
Partner role in BioINSouth
LEITAT will be responsible for the study and evaluation of the most promising feedstocks for bio-based platforms in southern Europe in conjunction with the bio-based processes developed in all European countries and globally. It will develop a critical and benchmarking analysis, based on a systematic literature search in bibliographic databases and on multiple interviews with different companies in the sector. It serves as the leader of WP4.
