We are proud to invite you to the 1st BioINSouth Forum that will take place on 5-6 June 2025 at Aula Magna, University of Catania, Piazza dell’Università, Catania, Italy. This event brings together leaders and experts from various sectors and disciplines from South Europe and beyond, to discuss and outline the R&I priorities in bioeconomy, in conjunction with the particularities of the South European regions.
Organised under the workplan of BioINSouth project cofunded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and the EU, the event will focus on the regional aspects of bioeconomy, and the development of R&I strategies and policies.
The 1st BioINSouth Forum, is an official Partner Event of the EU Green Week 2025 – Circular Solutions for a Competitive EU.
This year’s Green Week will unpack the “three Cs” – Clean, Competitive & Circular – exploring how to put circularity at the centre of our economic transition. With its potential to drive sustainable competitiveness, reduce waste, increase strategic autonomy and promote innovation, a circular economy offers solutions to some of Europe’s most pressing challenges.

With unique insights from the CBE JU Work Programme team, and national/regional players and policymakers in the field of bioeconomy, the 1st BioINSouth Forum is a must-attend for anyone interested in:

Call for Abstracts
The BioINSouth consortium actively seeks to connect with other collaborative EU projects and initiatives working on synergistic and complementary topics. The 1st BioINSouth Forum offers a unique opportunity to showcase the work and results of other EU projects, fostering knowledge exchange and exploring potential future collaborations.
The call for abstracts is now open, offering the chance to participate in the BioINSouth forum through:
