The 1st BioINSouth Exploitation Workshop, organised by PNO Innovation Greece, marked an important step in advancing the project’s strategy for turning knowledge, tools, and regional insights into long-term value for the Southern European bioeconomy. Designed as a closed session, the workshop brought together HUB Coordinators and selected HUB members, creating a focused environment for constructive discussion and collaborative assessment.
A total of 47 participants joined the session, representing the diversity of regions, expertise, and perspectives that underpin the BioINSouth initiative. The workshop centred on the practical review of the BioINSouth Environmental Assessment Toolkit prior to its wider launch. Participants examined its functionalities, applications, and potential to support regional stakeholders in integrating sustainability considerations into bioeconomy practices.
The session also provided a platform to align expectations, clarify next steps, and identify opportunities for strengthening the toolkit’s usability across different regional contexts. Materials from the workshop — including the presentation and video recording — were made available to all invited participants through the SPRING SharePoint repository, ensuring continued access and follow-up.
The workshop represents a significant milestone in BioINSouth’s commitment to meaningful exploitation: one that transforms project outputs into actionable tools, reinforces regional capabilities, and ensures that the emerging bioeconomy is built on robust, practical, and stakeholder-driven foundations.
